About Golden Thistle Lodge
Golden Thistle Lodge is a lodge under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the District Grand Lodge of Central South Africa. The lodge was consecrated on 4th August 1887, and is the oldest Masonic Lodge in Johannesburg.
The lodge meets in Johannesburg, on the 4th Thursday of every month, from January to November, at 7.30 p.m.
The lodge’s mission is to promote the principles of Freemasonry, which are brotherly love, relief and truth. The lodge is also committed to providing a forum for men to develop their moral and spiritual character, and to supporting Masonic charities.
The lodge has a long history of supporting the local community. The lodge participates in a number of Masonic events throughout the year, and is always looking for new members to join its ranks.
